Winter ingredient skincare tips

As you step in to your favourite beauty shop or browse the web for your next facial moisturiser, you would most certainly be forgiven for not really knowing where to start in selecting that one miracle cream that best suits your skin. With so many options available for various skin types and conditions, advice is almost always necessary to help you make the right choice.

The skincare industry is a constantly changing world that is full of new discoveries, “buzz” ingredients and is always striving to create the next ‘wonder product’ to deliver beautiful skin. Unfortunately, once you’ve found your perfect product, your skin needs will more than likely change with the season and so may not be as effective.

Winter is one of the most challenging times for our skin as we become more dehydrated, sensitive and depleted. Our environment is more extreme (central heating, windy days, pollution and a drop in temperature) and it is really important for us to respond to these changes when making our carefully selected skincare purchases.

One of the key words in my winter vocabulary is boost! We need to boost and super charge everything within our lives as in this season we are calmer, quieter, less active and more inward. This is also true of our skin. By looking for ingredients that are moisture generating, nurturing, comforting and more active we will keep our skin in harmony.

Skincare ingredients to look for during the Winter months:

Powerful Anti-oxidants
By using powerful anti-oxidants you can neutralise the impact our environment has on altering our skin. Ingredients to look for are Green Tea, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Rovisome (a patented ingredient rich in Vitamin A,C and E) which will prevent oxidative stress leading to premature ageing. Both Green Tea and Vitamins A, C and E can be found in our Facial Glow Radiance Peel.
