What is kombucha?

Kombucha is fermented black tea, naturally rich in probiotics and antioxidant. The expert brewers at Jarr Kombucha blend the tea, water, sugar and a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) together and leave to ferment, creating a delicious, refreshing slightly sparkling soft drink.

Is it alcoholic?

Kombucha contains less than 0.5% alcohol due to the natural fermenting process. This is about the same as a very ripe banana!

How can kombucha help the skin?

We use kombucha in a range of Elemental Herbology skincare products. The antioxidant and probiotic-rich nature of the ingredient makes it fantastic for protecting skin against free radical damage, reducing inflammation and improving tone, texture and radiance.

We use a patented active called Kombuchka™ which blends the fermented black tea with additional vitamins to give skin a lipo-filling effect.
