International Women’s Day

8th March 2017, posted by Elemental Herbology

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Whether it’s reducing the pay gap, campaigning for equal rights, changing stereotypes or promoting the achievements of women, today is a day to raise awareness and #BeBoldForChange.

Here at Elemental Herbology we wanted to celebrate the women we respect and admire and so asked the team (both male and female) who inspires them and why…

Severn Suzuki
“At the age of 12 she silenced the world at the UN earth summit with her powerful message on environmental and human behaviour. To have that determination, that voice and that conviction at 12 years old was and still is inspiring. She continues to do amazing work for our planet our environment and our children’s future.”

Geraldine Howard
“She managed a successful business with fun and grace and inspired me.”

Karen Blixen
“She was a game changer for women in the early 1920’s.”

Mary Portas
“For her work ethic and dedication to helping businesses develop, both large and small and her loyalty to the British high street.”

The Queen
“Anyone who has been working for 65 years at the same job deserves a medal!”

Karen Walker
“A kiwi who started her own brand from scratch learning about it all as she went. She now has an iconic brand that is globally recognised that continues to grow and 30 years on she is still just as involved.”
