All About Autumn

Lou Riby, shares her tips as we move into a new season.

Autumn is one of my favourite seasons, it allows us to take stock and nurture ourselves ready for the winter ahead of us. As we begin to wind down from the busy months of summer, it’s a great time to reflect and prepare for the colder months. I am very happy to cosy up by the fire and cook hearty food for my family and friends.

My top tips are all about nurturing the mind, body and skin, I like to give back to my mental and physical depletion with the following rituals;

1. My favourite thing to do as autumn approaches is to go for a long country walk or bike ride at the weekend. Being outside in the fresh air to make the most of the autumn sunshine is a great way to stay active and keep my head clear.

2. Once I need to start wearing socks, tights or trousers my skin feels dry, needing extra attention I like to scrub daily with our new Coconut Shell Cream Body Scrub, it smells amazing and the coconut oils leave my skin silky and soft.
3. Take time for you, make sure you have an evening bath at least once a week, I am addicted to our Earth Balance Bath & Body Oil at the moment. Containing Cedarwood essential oil, this is great to help release the feel good hormone, serotonin.

4. Hydrate your skin, I start to layer my skincare ensuring that I have ingredients that are going to stimulate my tired, sun washed skin. I change up my serum to the Collagen boosting Bio Cellular Matrix Serum.
5. As we change our clothes, our eating habits, we also start to hibernate. It is a great time to go and have a day at the Spa, reboot yourself ready for the winter.
